State Minister for the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharjee in a function here today said the country had already achieved tremendous success under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Bangabandhu gave equal importance to all the regions of the country and by realizing that, he tried to improve the economy of the people to build Sonar Bangla. But because of killing him, his efforts could not be implemented. In course of time his daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, after assuming power in 2009 has been sincerely working towards the materializing of Bangabandhu’s ideals and dreams to attain the cherished goal”, he said.
State Minister Swapan Bhattacharjee said these while addressing an inaugural function of M4C- Entrepreneur Forum Char Fair-2023 on the premises of the Former Fulchhari upazila headquarters at Gozaria char of the district on Sunday as the chief guest. Local lawmaker Mahmud Hasan Ripon spoke at the event as the special guest.
Presided over by the director general (DG) of Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogura Khalil Ahmed, the ceremony was also addressed, among others, by additional deputy commissioner (general) Sushanta Kumar Mahato, deputy director of the DAE Belal Uddin, upazila chairman GM Selim Parvez, and UNO Anisur Rahman.
The speakers said the financial condition of the char people here is better than any previous times.
It has been possible for taking coordinated efforts by the government and non-government organizations during the tenure of the present government, they added.
If the char people got fair prices against their produces, their socio-economic status might be better, they commented.
State Minister Swapan Bhattacharjee heard them seriously and said necessary measures including market linkage systems would be adopted so that char farmers get fair prices.
Later, he visited the stalls set up in the fair and talked to the owners of the stalls where different types of agro products produced by the char farmers are exhibited for the visitors.
A large number of people especially char farmers coming from different chars of the district, local elite, political leaders, and public representatives attended the function.
