Seminar on sustainable green business held

Institute of Energy, University of Dhaka organized a seminar titled ‘Sustainable Green Business’ at the Institute of Business Administration Auditorium on Saturday. LGRD Minister Tajul Islam, MP was present as the chief guest in the seminar while it was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. This seminar was organized on the occasion of ‘Bangladesh Sustainable Energy Week’, a press release said.

The seminar was attended by Chairman of Sustainable Renewable Energy Development Authority Munira Sultana, Director of Dhaka University Institute of Business Administration Professor Mohammad Abdul Momen, Executive Director and CEO of Idcol Bangladesh Alamgir Morshed, President of Bangladesh Plastic Products Manufacturers and Exporters Association Shamim Ahmed and Coordinator of Sustainable Energy Week and Director of the Institute of Energy Dr. SM Nasif Shams.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman emphasized on the development and use of alternative methods to meet the country’s electricity needs. He said, in this case, teachers, researchers and professionals related to the power sector should work together.
LGRD Minister Mo Tajul Islam, MP said, environment conservation should be given priority in energy production. He said that environmentally friendly energy should be produced through proper waste management, solar energy and waste utilization.
