The “Together for Turkey” campaign was launched in Bangladesh to help the victims of the tragic earthquake in
Turkey earlier this month. This initiative was launched this afternoon by the Agile Minds Corporation.
The Chairman of the company, Mishal Karim, inaugurated this program at Chows, a restaurant based in Banani, Dhaka. At the event, he officially handed over various medical supplies to His Excellency Mr. Ramis Sen, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh.
In his speech at the event, Mishal Karim quoted Mahatma Gandhi – ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’.
He continued, “The objective of our initiative is to provide and distribute all necessary medical equipment to build a functional field hospital for the earthquake victims in Turkey. As part of this effort, we are donating 2 Air Domes (each 4380 sq. ft., with a 459 sq. ft. connecting channel) and a 30KW to operate the Air Domes. Other than that, we are also arranging for the donation of sleeping bags, battery-powered heaters, power banks, and tent mats. Our donation list will also include regular basic essentials for the victims.”
Accepting these contributions, His Excellency Mr. Ramis Sen, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh, said, “Your donations will make a great contribution to the post-earthquake situation where the local people are dealing with the aftermath of the most devastating earthquake of the recent era.”
He thanked all Bangladeshis,  including Mishal Karim.
The Turkish Embassy in Bangladesh, TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) and AFAD (a leading Turkish NGO that focuses on logistical and installation work) have extended their hands to cooperate in the construction of this field hospital.
The Earth Identity Project (NGO No. 1969) will help in local fundraising) and THRIVE (an NGO registered in the United States) will help in the distribution of essential food packages for the earthquake victims.
Along with the Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh, THRIVE’s board member, Sadia Moyeen, along with the representatives of TIKA and AFAD were present at the event.
It was also announced during the event that an online platform has been created as part of this bold welfare initiative, through which anyone can donate any amount, big or small.
