Armed forces members will go to all the district towns in small groups on December 15 to recce the situation ahead of the national elections scheduled to be held on December 30, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said today.

The CEC made the comments during a special meeting with the law enforcers at the Election Commission today.

The armed forces’ teams will go to the district towns to determine where they will stay and the transport services available in those areas, the CEC said.

WHEN IS THE ELECTION?

Election Commission has revised polls schedule, deferring the 11th general election by a week to December 30 – a decision taken on November 12.

The authorities have fixed November 28 as the deadline for filing nomination papers, December 2 for scrutiny and December 9 last date of withdrawal.

The move came following demands from several opposition political parties.
