The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is always ready to tackle any untoward situation if it arises centring the BNP’s rally on December 10 next.

“We are always vigil about the overall security issue in Dhaka . . . RAB’S bomb disposal unit, special force, dog squad and helicopter unit are on alert centring the upcoming rally of BNP,” said Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing, at a press conference held at its Karwan Bazar’s Media Centre in the capital today.

Replying to a query, he said besides, RAB’s detectives will be deployed and necessary check posts will be set up to avert any kind of untoward incident.

The RAB’s media spokesman said a peaceful political environment is still prevailing in the country….both the ruling and opposition parties are holding their political programmes in the same way.

He categorically said security has been beefed up in and around the capital centring the rally of BNP scheduled for December 10.

Apart from this, Khandaker Moin said, RAB is always working to protect the lives and properties of the people, and state assets and ensure the security of foreign nationals staying here.
