Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud today said the country cannot be handed over to the biggest thief and terrorist of Hawa Bhaban.

“Tareq Rahman means the son of corruption and the champion of corruption five times in a row. I do not know the name of number one of Ali Baba’s forty thieves, but if someone is asked ‘Who is the biggest thief of Hawa Bhaban?’, the answer is Tareq Zia” he said.

Dr Hasan said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul said that if they can topple Awami League (AL) government then they will form a government under the leadership of Tareq Rahman.

“If BNP comes back to power, they will peel the skin of everyone’s back. We can’t hand over the country to those who want to peel people’s backs, so everyone should be united,” he added.

Dr Hasan said these while addressing as chief guest the tri-annual conference of Chattogram North District Krishok League, held at Chattogram Engineers Institution.

North District Krishak League President Nazrul Islam Chowdhury presided over the function while Krishak League president agriculturist Samir Chand inaugurated the conference. North District Krishok League General Secretary Shafiqul Islam presented the organizational report in the conference.

Chattogram North District AL President MA Salam, its General Secretary Sheikh Ataur Rahman, newly elected Zilla Parisad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam, Central Krishok League leader Akbar Ali Chowdhury, Rezaul Karim Reza, among others, addressed the function as special guests.

Terming BNP a winter bird, Dr. Hasan said, as the winter birds come from Siberia in winter and eat rice here and get fat and leave again, BNP is like the winter birds.

Information minister said they will come like a winter bird when the election comes. The birds of this winter cannot be given another chance, he added.

Dr Hasan, also AL joint General Secretary, said, BNP has started terrorist activities again, they are the enemy of the people, they are the enemy of the country, they must be resisted at all levels.

“Those who used to collect money from people by creating Hawa Bhaban, installed poles without providing electricity, attacked with grenades on August 21, killed AL leaders SM Kibria, Ahsan Ullah Master and Manjurul Imam, created Bangla Bhai all over the country and killed people by hanging them from trees, exploded bombs in five hundred places at a time, we cannot hand over the country to them,” he said.

Dr Hasan said that the Krishak League is a very favorite organization of Jononetri Sheikh Hasina.

“The way Krishak League leaders and activists have stood beside the people during the Corona epidemic is truly unique. When the farmers could not find people to cut the paddy, the leaders and activists of the Krishak League cut the paddy and delivered it to the farmer’s house. The leaders and activists of Krishak League should remind the people what was the condition of the country before fourteen years. This change in the country has happened due to the charismatic and magical leadership of Bangabandhu daughter Sheikh Hasina,” the minister said.

He said that the change of the country is not comfortable to some people. Because of this change, the people of the country have united behind Sheikh Hasina.

“That’s why they don’t tolerate this change. That is why BNP is now holding rallies across the country and gathering the terrorists. The nameplate of Kanchpur Bridge was burnt yesterday. They have started terrorist activities again,” Hasan said.

He said it is no matter what Fakhrul-Rizvi and Gayesh Babu said, a few days ago the vice-president of the World Bank came and met the Prime Minister and said that the progress Bangladesh has made is an example before the world.
