World Diabetes Day observed in Pabna

World Diabetes Day was observed with the initiative of Pabna Civil Surgeon Office on Wednesday. In observance of the day a rally was brought out from Civil Surgeon Office premises which paraded the main streets of the town.
Later a meeting was held at the conference room of the Civil Surgeon Office. Pabna Civil Surgeon Dr. Tahajjel Hossain, chaired the meeting. Among others, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr KM Abu Zafar, Civil Surgeon Office MOCS Dr. Md. Khairul Kabir, eminent journalist Abdul Hamid Khan, Medical Officer of Civil Surgeon Office Dr. Abdur Rahim Mridha, District Sanitary Inspector Md. Mahmudul Alam, Civil Surgeon Officer’s administrative officer Moktar Hossain, District EPI Superintendent Rabiul Alam and Health Officer of the Civil Surgeon Office Ilias Hossain addressed the meeting.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Tahajjal Hossain in his speech said that awareness and discipline are the easiest way to control diabetes. Everybody needs to be encouraged to take green vegetables, fish and low fat-sugar food from the early days. He also said that more calorie foods, soft drinks, processed foods, chocolate, ice cream should be avoided.
