77 top taxpayers honoured in Khulna

Taxes zone-Khulna honoured 77 top taxpayers in four categories on Sunday. Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque handed over the honorary memorandum and certificate to the highest taxpayers in a city hotel.
Highest taxpayers of Khulna City Corporation under the taxes zone-Khulna and 10 districts were honored.
Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque in his speech said that once the budget of Bangladesh was based on the post-dependent budget but now 90 percent of the current budget comes from own income. Taxpayers have unlimited contributions in this regard. This honor will encourage the taxpayers further. Referring to the ongoing development programs of the entire Bangladesh including the southern region, the mayor said that there is no alternative to increase the number of taxpayers if we want to make this country a developed country by 2041. Currently there are only 37 lakh TIN holders. But this number needs to be much higher.
National Revenue Board member Kalipad Haldar, Khulna divisional commissioner Lokman Hossain Miah, Khulna tax commissioner Prashanta Kumar Roy, additional director general of Khulna range Mohammad Habibur Rahman, customs excise and vat commissionerate Commissioner Md Mostaah Ali and Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Kazi Aminul Haque were present as special guests at the occasion. Taxes zone-Khulna tax commissioner Mohammad Jahangir Alam presided over the function.
The 77 highest taxpayers are Khulna City Corporation’s Sofrunnesa, SM Azizul Alam and Abdul Hamid Sardar, Rehana Begum and Pradip Kumar Biswas, Aleya Begum and Kazi Sanwar Hossain. Apart from City Corporation, Sheikh Eidat Hossain of Phultala, Mohammad Ziaul Ahsan of Batiaghata, Mohammad Shamim Ahsan of the same upazila, Gazi Hafizur Rahman of Phultala, Sheikh Islam Hossain of Batiaghata,
Rabeya Khatun of Phultala and Md Istiar Rahman of Pekagachha. Satkhira’s Md Ashikur Rahman (Ashiq), Khandaker Ali Haider, Md. Abu Hasan, Md. Samsur Rahman, Mohammad Abul Kashem, Selina Sultana Seuli and Md. Sajidul Islam Md. Anisur Rahman of Bagerhat, Mohammad Sohel Kabir, Ekhlasur Rahman, Mohammad Nuruzzaman Bhuiyan, Hafizur Rahman Sheikh, Lipika Rani Das and Mir Rahmat Ali.
