S M Akash, Chattogram Bureau : Former central Jubo League leader and entrepreneur Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar has warned that if communal groups attack Hindu temples ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja, they will not address Bangabandhu’s non-communal spirit in Bangladesh.

He said this in the speech of the chief guest in an exchange meeting with the puja mandap committees of No. 22 Enayat Bazar Ward ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja. At this time, he called for the formation of harmony committees in every neighborhood.

On Monday, September 26, in front of the city’s Nandankanan DC Hill, under the chairmanship of Enayet Bazar Ward Councilor No. 22 Salimullah Bachchu, former student leader Shibu Prasad Chowdhury, spoke at the meeting, Chattogram City Corporation’s reserved councilor Nilu Nag, Sripati Kanti Pal, Bilu Ghosh, Member of Mahanagar Puja Committee, Sarwar Jahan Saru, Sujit Ghosh and others were also present.

Meanwhile, Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar also said that those who commit communal attacks on temples, mosques and churches in the name of religion are enemies of society, country, and of religion. Those who destroy communal harmony by such attacks will not have their place in the golden Bangladesh of the non-communal spirit of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. To destabilize the country, the BNP-Jamaat gang has repeatedly carried out communal attacks and vandalized Hindu houses and temples. I would like to warn them that if any kind of communal attack is attempted to destroy the communal harmony, they will be given a stern reply along with people from all walks of life.

In view of the upcoming Durga Puja, he urged the administration of each puja mandapam as well as the pro-independence forces to play the role of guardians by forming communal harmony committees in each neighborhood.
