Popular folk singer Momtaz Begum has lent her voice to the Ferdous Ahmed and Ashna Habib Bhabna-starrer film ‘Dampara’. The song titled ‘Nai Kothao Tumi Nai’ has been penned by Anan Zaman. Emon Chowdhury has composed and arranged the music of the track.
The recording of the song was completed at a studio in the capital’s Niketan on Sunday. Actress Bhabna, who will lip-synch the track, was also present during the recording.
About the song, Bhabna said, “Momtaz has sung the song very beautifully. She is undoubtedly a talented singer. I went to the studio during the recording. I’m also lucky that, I will lip-synch her song again. I will take part in the shooting for the song soon.”
‘Dampara’ is Suddhoman Choitan’s upcoming film. Based on a true story, the movie portrays the heroic deeds of a daring police officer Shamsul Haque, who lost his life on duty during the Liberation War of 1971.
Ferdous will play the role of Shamsul Haque, while Bhabna will be seen as his wife Mahmuda Haque Chowdhury.
Shamsul Haque was the superintendent of Chattogram Police in 1971. Pakistani armed forces tortured him to death during the Liberation War on 17 April 1971.
