Four brothers were killed and three others injured when a pick-up van ran over them at Chakaria upazila in Cox’s Bazar district early hours of Tuesday.

The accident happened at Malumghat area of the Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram highway at around 5:30am.

Quoting eyewitnesses, Malumghat highway police outpost in-charge Shafayet Hossain said the father of the deceased brothers died 10 days ago. They met the tragic end of their lives while returning home ending some rituals at a nearby temple.

A Cox-Bazar-bound pickup van rammed into them when they were crossing the road.

Critically injured seven were rushed to Malumghat Khristan Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared four brothers dead.

All the seven were the members of a same family.
