Zahid Akbar’s song in biopic ‘Bangabandhu’

The biopic movie ‘Bangabandhu’, based on the biography of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has only one basic song. And that song was written by Zahid Akbar, the famous lyricist of Dub, Priyatma, Mann Pajre.

Popular Kolkata music director Shantanu Moitra has composed the melody of the song titled ‘Achin Majhi’. He also lends his voice. According to the lyricist, the song is based on the adolescence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.His school life background, boat and river relationship will be in this song.

Zahid Akbar said, “There is no language to express the feeling of having a song written by me in Bangabandhu’s biopic”.I have learned many incidents of Bangabandhu by reading it in books.Later I arranged the lyrics. Being able to stay with some work is self-satisfying. This work is also like that.
Someone related to the biopic contacted me last year.Later I talked to Shantanu Moitra and wrote the song and sent it.He at firstselected it without any modification.

He further added that he is happy to be part of the biopic. I would like to thank everyone involved with the movie for giving me this opportunity. Many thanks especially to Mohammad Jamie and Senior Film Journalist Saikat Salahuddin who worked as the line producer of the movie on behalf of Bangladesh. I hope everyone will enjoy the song.

Bollywood’s Shyam Benegal is producing the biopic movie ‘Bangabandhu’ in a joint production of Bangladesh and India. Arifin Shuvo has played the role of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in this film.Nusrat Imroz Tisha as Bangabandhu’s wife Fazilatun Nesha Mujib, Nusrat Faria as Sheikh Hasina, Riaz Ahmed as Tajuddin Ahmed and many others are playing in it.
