The Education Ministry Dr. Dipu Moni said that we are not thinking about closing down educational institutions right now on the issue of corona virus. She made the remarks in response to a question from reporters after a session of the DC Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday (January 18). “We are monitoring the situation,” she said. I will sit in a meeting with the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 within 2-1 days. However, if it is not possible to take the class due to the increase in corona infection in the educational institution, then you have to go to the online class. We are still running online class-assignments so that no one is left behind. However, where online classes are not possible, assignments will continue.

Dipu Moni said, “In the case of corona infection, we see how many tests are being done and how many of them are positive.” Many people are taking Omicron lightly. However, it should not be forgotten that in our country, the number of deaths due to delta variant is more than the number of deaths due to delicacy. So we have to be health conscious. At the time, she said, up to Monday, 85 lakh students aged 12-18 had received the first dose of corona vaccine.

“We have received various proposals from the deputy commissioners (DC),” she said. They have proposed to introduce technical education in all types of educational institutions. We have informed them that the initiative has already been taken. Besides, it has been proposed to form a pool for the appointment of headmasters of private schools and principals of colleges, that is, to include the district administration in this process, to bring transparency in the work of the managing committee, and to form a committee for secondary education in the upazila. We thought the proposals were good. So we will do these.

This time the venue of the DC conference is Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. The conference is taking place two years later due to the Corona epidemic. The conference will end on January 20.
