Bangladesh national women’s cricket team secured 9th position as the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday launched the first ever global Women’s T20I Team Rankings.

Three-time champions Australia lead the 46-team table and India becomes fifth. The ICC’s move to launch the women’s T20I rankings follows its decision earlier this year to award international status to all T20 matches between member countries.

New Zealand, England and West Indies have been ranked second, third, and fourth respectively. South Africa, Pakistan and Ireland teams also secured positions in top 10.

Bangladesh bowlers Rumana Ahmed and Nahida Akter ranked 7th and 9th in the best bowlers’ list.
