Bangladesh is No. 1 country in sending peacekeepers, says Army Chief

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed said Bangladesh is the No. 1 country in the world in sending peacekeepers. This achievement did not happen in one day. We had to accept many sacrifices. We will take the quality standard to the world level through training. We want to show exactly what the people have for the Bangladesh Army.

He added that the army now places more importance on training than ever before. For the first time in the history of the country, logistics FTX army level training has been conducted. This proves that we place utmost importance on training.

He said this while distributing winter clothes at Paschimbagh Government School ground in Shibpasha union of Ajmiriganj upazila of Habiganj district on Sunday noon.

Earlier, he distributed blankets among more than 300 people suffering from cold. Major General Hamidul Haque, GOC and Area Commander of 17th Infantry Division was present on the occasion.

It is learned that under the direction of the Chief of Army Staff, the Army is conducting various public service activities including providing winter clothes, relief and free medical services to the needy and destitute people of the area during the winter season. Such public service activities of the army are playing a special role in protecting the miserable and helpless people from the cold.
