DHAKA, – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today extended New Year greetings to the people on behalf of the party, saying the AL will start afresh journey to meet the new hopes and aspirations of the people in the New Year.

“Awami League is a party for the masses. It will begin a new journey to fulfill newer hopes and expectants of the people,” he told a regular press conference at his official residence here.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the Awami League will carry on its works in accordance with the people’s aspirations ahead of the next general election. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the AL government’s journey towards development and prosperity will remain continued, he added.

At the same time, he said, AL as a well-organized, disciplined, modern and smart political party will continue its restless efforts to materialize the dream of the masses. AL is determined to foster the non-communal spirit in the country’s politics by keeping intact the ideology of Liberation War, he mentioned.
