TBT REPORT
Director Chayanika Chowdhury is set to cast actor Mamnun Emon in her upcoming film which is expected to go on the floors on December 17.
The film has Mahiya Mahi, DA Tayeb and Abul Hayat, among others.

Confirming the news, Chayanika Chowdhury said, “Back in 2005, I made a TV play titled ‘Dui Bon’, an adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s novel of the same name, featuring Emon alongside Mahfuz Ahmed, Taren Jahan and Bipasha Hayat. It marked Emon’s first one-hour TV drama and my first collaboration with him. Afterwards, I did around nine to ten projects with him which came out wonderful.”

She further said, “Emon is a very good soul who never hesitates to express gratitude. I last teamed up with him in 2018 for an Eid special telefilm.”
Chayanika informed that the title of the upcoming project, which is initially named as ‘Ahongkari Bou’, may change. “In the story, there will be surprise in the character of Emon for which the audience will have to wait till the end,” she added.

Emon said, “I was very new in that time. Being a pioneering director for romantic dramas, Chayanika Chowdhury even established a special genre even before I stepped into the industry.”

“I remember her Tagore drama ‘Dui Bon’ which took me onboard. It had superstars like Mahfuz Ahmed, Taren Jahan and Bipasha Hayat. As a newcomer, I felt nervous and moreover, it was Tagore drama. She (Chayanika) helped me. Afterwards, we worked together on some small screen productions, before I left for the silver screen.”, he said.

“For the first time, I am collaborating with Chayanika Chowdhury for a film. I was impressed by the story and I liked my character very much.”

“Chayanika Chowdhury already has given a hit film titled ‘Bishwo Shundari’. It feels great that she has thought about me for her next film. From my side, it will obviously a reunion with her. On the other side, it has Mahiya Mahi with whom I really enjoy collaborating,” added the actor.
Emon and Mahi were seen together for the first time, in Shaheen Sumon’s romantic thriller ‘Mafia’ which was released earlier this year.
