Police cancel all leaves to be vigilant

Rumors have already spread through social media about the deteriorating condition and death of BNP chairperson & former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The police have been asked to be vigilant so that no one can carry out sabotage based on this rumor. The verbal message was given to different units of the police through wireless on Tuesday night. An official with the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter. Various police units have been verbally instructed by the department to remain vigilant.

Also, the leave of those who are on leave from constables to inspectors in different units of the police has been canceled from November 23. All of them have been instructed to return to work by November 24. An office order from the DMP’s wari division said officers who have taken leave for reasons other than maternity, pregnancy and physical illness should return to work by Wednesday. If anyone does not return on Wednesday, legal action will be taken against them.

It may be mentioned that Begum Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since November 13 due to various physical complications. Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at CCU, lost her hemoglobin on Tuesday (November 23) evening. However, after the doctors gave blood, her body returned to normal. Rumors about the issue spread through social media. Based on this rumor, the police headquarters has instructed to be on alert to avoid any untoward incident.
