DUBSU observes Probarona Purnima

In the evening of October 22 (Friday), the Dhaka University Buddhist Students’ Union (DUBSU) observed Probarona Purnima through launching sky lanterns (Fanush). The festival held at the Jagannath Hall premises of the university. The event graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mihir Lal Saha, Provost of Jagannath hall, and Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences.

In his remarks, Professor Mihir Lal Saha highlighted the importance of maintaining communal harmony and peace among all religious communities in Bangladesh.

DUBSU president Pranto Barua, secretary Nayon Barua, former president Rintu Barua and former vice president and Erasmus scholar Arup Barua were present among others.

In his speech Arup Barua said, “young people, especially students must be proactive to promote interreligious harmony, religious and cultural tolerance.”
