JnU suspends 2 BCL men

Aslam Hossain, JnU Correspondent :The authorities of Jagannath University (JnU) on Tuesday suspended 2 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League over attacking students including Journalistfor not backtrackingthir (Victims) sitsthem for playing card on September 13.

A press statement signed by register was issued regarding the suspension.According to statement the suspended BCL activists are-Mehedi Hasan of Philosophy Department (2016-17 session) and Masfik Khan Adorof Computer Science and Engineering Department (2016-17 session).

Earlier on September 13,At least 4students including journalist and female student of Mass Communication and Journalism department of the University were injured as JnU unit of BCL men swooped on themwho took part in a group study in a university bus.

BCL men badly blasphemed students and roughly attacked on them because of not backtring their (Victims)sits them for playing card in “Durjoy” bus staying premises main gate of the university.

The injured students were Riaz Rahman Staff reporter of Channel 9,Sabbir Hasan,FoijunnaharAkterJinia. They all were students of 9 Batch of Mass Communication and journalism department of the university.Injured students was taken primary treatment from university medical Centar.

Following the attack Injured students was submitted a written complaint to the university authorities demanding punishment for those who attacked.Following the incident university authorities suspends them on the basis of submitted report by investigation committee.

JnU proctor Prof.Nur Muhammad told the Daily Bangladesh Today that the decision was made on the basis of report submitted by investigation committee as the allegation against them was proved during investigation.
