Want to be with music till death

When I was a child, I used to play music with my father, and since then I have been with music. I want to be immersed in music until death. The words belong to Shemul Dip Bijon, the busiest musician and composer of the time.

He shared his dreams and realities with The Bangladesh Today at his own studio B-Music Station at Wireless Gate in Moghbazar on Thursday.

Due to his extraordinary composition and excellent singing, this young singer is currently passing a busy time. Bijon was born and raised in Sadar upazila of Narayanganj district. Although his full name is Shemul Dip Bijon, everyone in the industry calls him Bijon.

When he was young, he first started with the hands of his father Anil Chandra Das, later he learned Nazrul music from Chhayanaut. Bijon was listed as a Folk Artist on Bangladesh Television in 2007.

He also completed a one-year course on Staff Notation at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in 2018. In 2016, the first solo album in his own composition was released on the popular audio video label Eagle Music.

Poroborti Shomay Faki, Ami Bhul korechi, Shankhachil, Bhavo Shongshar music video titleed songs got quite popular. So far, more than 50 songs have been published under his composition and melody.

Popular vocalist Sukumar Baul, Plabon Qureshi, Baul Milon, Mausumi Meem and several emerging artists have sung in the tune of Bijon.

When asked, Bijon said, “I am in music today with the inspiration of my parents. Music is now my passion and profession.”

Song is my dream, song is my pursuit, I find my peace through song. I will sing as long as I live. I wish everyone love and blessings.
