Leaders of film, drama organizations greet Hasan for implementing clean feed

DHAKA,  – The leaders of different film and drama organizations today congratulated Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud for implementing clean feed foreign TVchannels broadcasting. They greeted the minister in a view-exchange meeting held at the meeting room of his ministry at Secretariat here.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hasan and additional secretary of the ministry Mizan-ul-Alam were present in the meeting.

Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, said the government has implemented the clean feed of foreign TV channels broadcasting as per the act from October 1. Some foreign TV channels have started to send clean feed which didn’t do that earlier, he added.

The minister said, “We will not give any more time. From now, those foreign TV channels will be on air which will come through clean feed.”

He said all concerned stakeholders including mass media owners, employees, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, Dhaka Union of Journalists and the leaders of different organizations of film and drama arenas have congratulated the government for implementing the
act. It is possible as all stakeholders have taken their stance in favour of the interest of the country and the law as well, he added.

He said the government has decided to enforce the fee of Taka 200,000 for per foreign artist for making local advertisements with foreign artists and a one-time government fee of Taka 20,000 for per advertisement for TV channels while airing such advertisements.

Murad extended thanks to all artistes and mass media employees for standing beside the government in implementing the act.
