The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) included Jaker 
Ali Anik and Shamim Patwari in the BCB XI for the two-day warm-up match 
against West Indies ahead of the upcoming Test series.

They are only two players with experience in playing in the national team in 
a BCB squad, filled mostly with young promising cricketers who were standout 
in recent domestic leagues. 

The two-day match begins tomorrow (Thursday) at Anvir Cricket Stadium in 
city's Bashundhara, providing the visiting Caribbean side an opportunity to 
prepare for the two-match Test series.

The squad features performers from the ongoing National Cricket League, along 
with several young cricketers and pace bowlers. No established domestic 
spinner has been included, as the hosts seek to limit the visiting side's 
exposure to local spin conditions ahead of the Tests.

Patwari, who has lost his place in Bangladesh's T20 squad, will have an 
opportunity to impress in the red-ball format. Jaker, a regular member of the 
national setup, has also been included in the side.

Mahfizul Islam Robin, who scored two half-centuries and a century for 
Mymensingh Division in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL), has earned 
a place in the squad. Aggressive opener Jisan Alam is also among the 
selections.

The pace-bowling options include Anik Dev Barman, who made his first-class 
debut for Sylhet Division in the ongoing NCL, Abdul Halim and Rangpur pace 
all-rounder Chowdhury Mohammad Rizwan. Two age-group cricketers have also 
been included. 

The first Test between Bangladesh and the West Indies is scheduled to begin 
in Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on October 28, while the 
second Test will start in Sylhet on November 5.

The series is the part of the ICC World Test Championship.
