Bdtask unveils indigenous OMS technology ‘Velexa’ for capital market

TBT DESK: Bdtask Limited, a Bangladeshi information technology company, has launched a multi-tenant Order Management System (OMS) to address the shortage of international-standard technology and streamline back-office operations in the country's capital market. Named ‘Velexa OMS’, the platform has been developed to manage transactions and data for brokerage houses, stock exchanges, and intermediary institutions in the stock market.

The matter was confirmed in a press release issued by Bdtask Limited today (October 13, 2026). The company stated that the software has been engineered to be suitable for use in capital markets both domestically and internationally.

According to Bdtask officials, there is currently no centralised order management, deposit, or transaction tracking system for the nearly 300 brokerage houses operating in the country. Purchasing proprietary software or maintaining in-house IT teams is extremely expensive for smaller firms. On the other hand, many large brokerage houses rely on imported foreign software, which is not only costly but also poses potential risks to the security of domestic financial data.

Sams Mohammad Tarek, Managing Director of Bdtask Limited, said, "Following five years of continuous research and development, we have introduced a technology that delivers independent and secure services to each brokerage house while keeping data hosted within Bangladesh's data centres. Without any heavy upfront investment, brokers can adopt a subscription model and utilise the service by paying a nominal percentage fee per transaction."

Bdtask informed that Velexa OMS is capable of serving numerous brokers simultaneously through a single deployment, while keeping customer data and orders of each institution strictly segregated. Capable of processing approximately 13,000 orders per second, the system supports globally recognised protocols including FIX and ITCH market data. It features web-based and mobile applications, real-time risk management, and client onboarding tools.

Tanzil Ahmed, Director of the company, noted that this world-class technology is well-positioned to meet international market demands. He stated, "Our vision extends beyond the Bangladeshi market. Discussions are already underway with several stock exchanges and institutions in the Middle East, and global marketing operations are being driven from Bdtask's Riyadh office."

It is worth noting that Bdtask Limited, a member of BASIS and BACCO, has been providing IT services across domestic and international markets for over 12 years. The firm has developed more than 40 software products across various sectors, including fintech, retail, and healthcare, and operates with a team of over 80 skilled engineers and professionals across its Dhaka and Riyadh offices.
