Kusum Sikder has distinguished herself in various roles like acting, producing and writing. However, her new song is yet again a reminder that she has a different journey as a vocalist.
After a long seven years, the National Film Award-winning actress has returned with an original song titled ‘Probal Ghor.’ Kusum wrote the song herself.
Kusum recently received praise for singing Nazrul Sangeet titled ‘Hera Hota Hele Dule’ and Rabindra Sangeet titled ‘Kon Kanoner Phul.’
This time, she is appearing with her own original song, ‘Probal Ghor,’ which has been composed and arranged by Mahmud Sunny.
The recording of the song was completed during the Corona period in 2020. After all this time, an initiative was taken to release it by making a music video for the song.
It was shot under the banner of Pahardanga Pictures in various picturesque locations of Cox’s Bazar.
Shah Rasel was the model along with Kusum Sikder. The video was produced by Nakul Sarkar.
Kusum’s comeback to singing after a long break is bringing her multi-dimensional artistry to the fore. She released her last original song titled ‘Nesha’ in 2017.
As such, she is once again appearing in front of the audience with her own songs after nine years.
Regarding ‘Probal Ghor,’ Kusum Sikder told this correspondent, “Even now, when I go somewhere, some people talk about the song ‘Nesha.’ Many people encourage me to make new songs by referring to that song.
I thought since I had a song recorded, I would release that one. Due to the Corona situation, I did not move forward with it at that time.”
Regarding release of the song in October, Kusum mentioned that her first full-length film ‘Shoroter Joba,’ directed by her, was released on October 11, 2024, on the occasion of Durga Puja.
She also played the role of ‘Joba’ in it. Apart from that, she became ‘Lux-Anandadhara Photogenic Champion’ in October 2002.
The music video for ‘Probal Ghor’ has been released on Friday. It can be seen on Kusum’s Facebook page, Instagram account, and YouTube channel.
Kusum’s first film, Khalid Mahmood Mithu’s ‘Gohine Shobdo,’ was released in 2010. Her second film, Swapan Ahmed’s ‘Lal Tip,’ was released in 2012.
Kusum won the National Film Award in the Best Actress category for the film ‘Shankhachil’ directed by Goutam Ghoshe.
