A free, nationwide directory of doctors and healthcare providers in Bangladesh has been relaunched, making it easier for patients to find the right medical professionals. Through HealthCareBD.com, patients can search for specialists by name, medical specialty, district, or thana without registration or any fees.

The directory now carries more than 5,896+ doctor profiles across 36 medical specialties, together with over 1,400+ hospitals, diagnostic centres, pharmacies, ambulance services, blood banks and pharmaceutical companies. Listings are organised by all 64 districts and 585 thanas and upazilas, so a patient in Sirajganj or Barguna can search their own area rather than only the capital.

Each doctor profile shows qualifications, designation, hospital affiliation, chamber address and visiting hours. Hospital and diagnostic centre pages show their departments, services and the doctors who practise there.

"Most people looking for a doctor in Bangladesh still rely on a neighbour's suggestion or a photograph of a chamber board," said M. M. Rahman, Proprietor of Media BD Agency, which publishes the site. "We wanted a patient in any district to be able to find the right specialist, in their own area, in under a minute — and to find it free."

Searching and viewing listings is free for patients, and a basic listing is free for doctors and institutions. Doctors and healthcare organisations that want a verified badge, their contact number and WhatsApp button displayed, or priority placement, can subscribe to a paid listing from BDT 500 per month, with three, six and twelve-month terms available at a discount. Payments are processed through PayStation and accept cards, bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay and internet banking.

The site also asks doctors to claim and correct their own profiles, which the company says is the main way the directory stays current. Corrections requested by any doctor are made free of charge, whether or not they subscribe.
