People have faith in EC: Nasim

COX’S BAZAR  – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today said the country’s people have faith in the Election Commission (EC) that will conduct the forthcoming parliamentary polls in a free, fair and peaceful manner.

“The upcoming national election will be held freely, fairly and neutrally. We want to win in the polls fairly. We don’t want any violence,” he said, speaking at the inaugural function of the national congress of Bangladesh Homeopathic Association at a hotel here.

Nasim said many people have faith in the homeopathic treatment system. But now some cheats abusing people’s faith. He urged the homeopathy doctors to remain alert against those cheats.

Bangladesh Homeopathic Board Chairman Dilip Roy presided over the function where around 1,500 doctors from home and abroad took part.

Later, the health minister inaugurated the newly establish Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital and visited the CCU, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and special unit for children.

Cox’s Bazar Civil Surgeon Dr Abdus Salam said this is the first CCU in any sadar hospital in the country. He termed it ‘a new horizon’ in treatment facility at the district in the country.
