

TBT DESK: Dhaka Bank Securities Ltd has appointed Mohammad Ahsanur Rahman as its managing director and chief executive officer (CEO), the company said on Thursday.
Rahman brings more than 18 years of professional experience in Bangladesh’s capital market, with expertise in strategic leadership, institutional business, investment services and digital transformation.
Before joining Dhaka Bank Securities, he served as chief operating officer of UCB Stock Brokerage Ltd. Earlier, he spent nearly six years as CEO of BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Ltd, where he led business expansion, operational transformation, risk management and digital initiatives.
During his tenure at BRAC EPL, Rahman also led the expansion of the company’s branch network and implementation of technology-driven initiatives. He played a role in introducing an order management system (OMS) and integrating the brokerage’s technology with BRAC Bank’s ‘Astha’ platform and bKash.
Earlier in his career, Rahman led local and foreign institutional sales and trading operations, managing business relationships with global funds, international brokers and local asset management companies. He also participated in investor engagement programmes and international roadshows in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Rahman holds a BBA in Finance from East West University. He has also completed professional training and programmes in portfolio management, financial analysis, leadership and Islamic finance.
Under his leadership, BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage received the BSEC Independence Golden Jubilee Award 2023 in the broker-dealer category. The company said his capital market experience and technology-driven transformation are expected to drive Dhaka Bank Securities’ growth and development.
