Popular small-screen actress Orchita Sporshia has always sought to carve out her own path in the entertainment industry. Rather than chasing popularity, she prefers to take on meaningful characters and stories that allow her to explore different facets of her craft.
“I want to tell stories about real people. Alongside fictional roles, I want to work equally on realistic characters, allowing me to discover myself through diverse roles as I age,” Sporshia told the media.
Her approach was once again evident in the drama “Lalpori”, directed by Jobayer Abir Pial, where she played the lead role. Through the character, audiences witnessed another side of the actress, who has developed a particular interest in portraying people and experiences rooted in society.
Explaining her decision to work in “Lalpori”, Sporshia said she is drawn to stories and characters that reflect ordinary people and their experiences amid changing circumstances. Bringing such characters to life convincingly, she noted, is a challenge she is always willing to embrace.
Sporshia began her journey in the entertainment industry through television commercials. Her distinctive screen presence and natural acting soon caught the attention of directors, opening doors to dramas, telefilms, web series and feature films.
“I entered the acting world through commercials. At the time, I had no idea how long this journey would be. The truth is, those early projects became the turning points of my career, so I never had to look back,” she said.
Over the years, she has continued to explore diverse roles across different formats. Reflecting on her career, Sporshia said she hardly realised when she had spent nearly a decade and a half in the industry.
“Opportunities arose to work in dramas and films alike. I didn’t even realise when I had traversed a decade and a half in this field. General audiences might not know that surviving in this industry is a major challenge; those who endure are the true winners. The fact that I’m still here is, to me, a great success,” she added.
