

Desk Report- On 22 August 2026, a distribution program under the Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) was organized at Susua Char, Bhuapur, Tangail. The program is funded by Human Concern International (HCI) and implemented by Shushilan.
As part of the initiative, essential support materials were distributed among 66 sponsored children, including 65 girls and 1 boy. The distributed items included nutritious food, sanitary napkins and school dresses, with the support designed to address the children’s nutritional, educational and personal hygiene needs.
The event was attended by a six-member HCI and media delegation, including Mahmuda Khan, Global CEO, Human Concern International; Masum Mohammad Rahman Mahbub, CEO, Human Concern USA; Sami Hamdi, News Presenter and Social Activist and Goodwill Ambassador of Human Concern International;; Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, USA Correspondent, Somoy Television; and Ibrahim Chowdhury, Editor, Prothom Alo North America.
From the CSP project team, Mustafa Bakuluzzaman, Focal Person of the Child Sponsorship Program, and Kazi Faisal Kabir, Monitoring Officer, were present during the distribution. Representatives responsible for media and documentation from Shushilan also attended the event and documented the activities and interactions.
During the visit, representatives from Canada and the United States spent time with the children and their parents, listened to their experiences and discussed how the support provided through the Child Sponsorship Program is contributing to their daily lives. The interaction created an opportunity for the visiting representatives to better understand the realities, needs and aspirations of children and families living in Susua Char.
The children and their parents expressed their appreciation for the continued support provided through the program. They shared their gratitude with the visiting representatives and expressed satisfaction with the assistance received, particularly the nutrition support, school dresses and sanitary napkins.
Through the Child Sponsorship Program, Human Concern International and Shushilan continue to work together to support the well-being, education, dignity and development of sponsored children and their families in Susua Char.
