On Thursday, a courtesy call was paid at the Ramna Cathedral, between Archbishop Bejoy N. D. Cruz OMI of Dhaka Archdiocese and the newly elected board of directors of Dhaka YMCA . In a very dignified, cordial, joyful and unpretentious atmosphere, the Archbishop discussed with his enthusiastic interest the various matters with prevailing issues of Dhaka YMCA, the pioneer of Y-Movement in Bangladesh’s glory, reputation and goodwill achieved in the long 60 years, and assured his support in the beautiful journey of Dhaka YMCA being integral part of World renowned international Association in achieving its goals and objectives in the coming days.
In this event, His Excellency Archbishop first was greeted with a bouquet of flowers and presented him with a crest with the monogram of Dhaka YMCA, led by the newly elected President of the Association, Mr. Daniel Nirmal D'Costa, along with 2 VPs, General Secretary(Hony) Mr. Badal Francis Costa and the members of the Board of Directors who arrived in a short notice.
Finally, the program came to an auspicious end with the refreshments. At the event, the President greeted His Excellency Bejoy N D Cruze OMI for his valuable time, solidarity & keen desire to be with such world-largest youth movement while highlighted the long golden past and present reality of Dhaka YMCA and said that YMCA is a meaningful, successful, and unique platform for all youths regardless of religion, cast, creed, color serving the youth of whole world. He expected his constant advice, suggestions and overall cooperation from the His Excellency Archbishop Bejoy as the Bangladesh’s prime religious leader in achieving its aims and objectives and in strengthening the movement towards establishing the cherished Kingdom of God. His Excellency Archbishop listened to the leaders of Dhaka YMCA with great patience and interest and praised the guest houses in almost all downtowns & cities of the world, one of the successful & admirable projects of the strongly founded YMCA movement established in 1844 and renowned worldwide, and wished the successful journey of the newly elected board of directors of Dhaka YMCA, its partners & all standing on this amazing ecumenical platform.
