NATORE,  – Six people were killed and six others injured as a pickup van plunged into a ditch on the Bonpara-Hatikumrul Highway this afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge of Bonpara Highway Thana Mojaffor Hossain said the accident occurred at around 1:30 pm at Kachikata in Gurudaspur upazila as the driver of the pickup, carrying passengers, lost his control over steering wheels.

The details of the deceased could not be known immediately. The pickup was heading towards Dhaka, it was known.

Natore Fire Service recovered five bodies on the spot while another one succumbed to his injuries at Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex.

Injured people were admitted to the hospital. Deputy Commissioner of Natore Shamim Ahmed said Police Super visited the spot.
