From creating her first videos during the 2022 FIFA World Cup to working in music videos and dramas and launching her own business, Sraboni Samba is gradually turning a childhood ambition into a multifaceted career.
For Hasna Akter Sraboni, better known online as Sraboni Samba, the camera has long represented more than a medium for entertainment. It was part of a childhood dream—to stand in front of an audience, tell her own stories and eventually build something of her own.
Today, that ambition has taken her into content creation, music videos, dramas and entrepreneurship.
“Since childhood, I dreamed of standing in front of the camera and sharing my own story. That is why I have continued pursuing that dream. Today, because of everyone’s love and support, I have gained recognition, and I hope to achieve even more in the future,” Sraboni says.
Born and raised in Chatkhil, Noakhali, Sraboni did not begin her journey with professional equipment or extensive industry connections. Like many young people entering the digital space, she started with limited resources and gradually learned through experience.
She says the desire to create content remained with her even when the necessary tools and opportunities were not readily available. A significant turning point came during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, when she decided to take her first serious step into video content.
She began with simple videos, experimenting with different forms of online content. One of those early videos unexpectedly went viral, bringing her an immediate response from viewers and giving her the confidence to pursue the path more seriously.
“That moment became a turning point in my life. I started receiving love and appreciation from people, and my family also stood beside me. That was when I felt that perhaps this was the path I should follow,” she says.
At the age of 21, Sraboni formally entered the media industry. She began with blogging and TikTok before moving into music videos and dramas. Her early projects included the music video Tumi Amar Hoia Thaiko.
She later attracted wider attention through Lojjaboti Kemne Bojhaye Koto Bhalobashi, which has received more than two million views. Since then, she has worked in more than seven music videos and over four dramas.
For Sraboni, however, social media is not simply a platform for visibility. It has become a space through which she has explored different aspects of her career and identity.
Her ambitions have also moved beyond content creation. Alongside her work in entertainment, she has entered the business sector as the founder of Samba Elite Beauty Lounge.
The move into entrepreneurship marks another stage in her professional development. Having started her career with a phone and a desire to create, she is now attempting to build a business alongside her work in the entertainment industry.
“I am now a content creator, influencer and entrepreneur. As the founder of Samba Elite Beauty Lounge, I have been able to turn one of my dreams into reality,” she says.
Her personal life has also been shaped by her journey in the digital world. It was through social media that she met her life partner, who is also a content creator. According to Sraboni, their relationship has developed around mutual respect, support and a shared understanding of the demands of working in the digital space.
Looking ahead, she wants to continue working in entertainment while taking on projects that allow her to grow professionally.
“If I get the opportunity to work on good projects, I hope to do much more in the future,” she says.
Sraboni is also quick to acknowledge that her progress has not been achieved through individual effort alone. She credits her family, audience and supporters for helping her continue when the journey was uncertain.
“I believe this achievement is not mine alone. It is the result of your love, my hard work and the blessings of Allah,” she says.
Her journey reflects a broader shift in the way young talents are entering Bangladesh’s entertainment industry. Social media has lowered some of the traditional barriers to visibility, allowing individuals from outside established media circles to build audiences and explore professional opportunities on their own terms.
For Sraboni Samba, the journey began with a simple childhood wish and a decision to pick up a camera despite limited resources. That wish has since evolved into a career spanning digital content, music videos, dramas and business.
There is still a long way to go. But for Sraboni, the objective is no longer simply to be seen in front of the camera. She now wants to use the platform she has built to create better work, expand her career and turn the opportunities she has received into something lasting.
