Five die, 66 more test positive for COVID-19 in Natore

NATORE,  – A number of 66 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 266 samples at Natore Sadar Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory and three Upazila Health complexes COVID-19 rapid antigen and Genexpert testing centers.

The infection rate is 24.81 percent in the district, civil surgeon of the district Dr Kazi Mizanur Rahman told BSS.

Meanwhile, five persons have died with coronavirus infection durin this period, he said.

According to the civil surgeon office sources, samples of 25,768 people have been tested in the district so far and 6,909 people have been found COVID-19 positive, while the number of recovery cases at 2,823.

A total of 118 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, said Dr Rahman.

At present, the number of persons in the home isolation in the district is 4,038 and the number of patients at the Natore Sadar Hospital quarantine 48, he added.

The health expert of the district urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
