TANGAIL  – Four people were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks on the Bangabandhu Bridge link road at Saratoil under Kalihati upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased are Jibon, 25, son of Jamser Ali in Dinajpur Sadar upazila, Mamun, 27, son of Aminul and Munna, 28, residents of Biral upazila, and Krishna, 27, of Setabganj Thana in Dinajpur district.

Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station Mosharraf Hossain said the accident occurred in the area at about 7 am when a Dhaka- bound stone-laden truck collided head on with a Dinajpur-bound one, leaving
three people dead on the spot and one injured.

The injured was taken to Tangail General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police seized both the trucks. A case was filed in this connection.
