Significant opportunities exist in power, energy, transportation, local government engineering, shipping, aviation, industry and commerce, housing, agriculture, food, healthcare, and many other sectors. Bangladesh has also demonstrated remarkable capability and success in implementing large-scale infrastructure and development projects. Furthermore, the country has a proven track record of successfully utilizing and repaying financing received from international development partners in accordance with agreed terms.
Taking these strengths into consideration, EQUILINE FINANCE, an Abu Dhabi-based investment and project financing company, has selected Bangladesh as one of its priority investment destinations.
EQUILINE FINANCE intends to work closely with various ministries, government departments, and public corporations to identify priority projects that are strategically important to the Government of Bangladesh. After identifying these projects, the company estimates the required financing and conducts internationally recognized feasibility studies. If a project is found to be technically, commercially, and financially viable, EQUILINE FINANCE works with the relevant authorities to determine the most appropriate investment structure, financing mechanism, and commercial terms.
Based on the development priorities and plans of the Government of Bangladesh, EQUILINE FINANCE is initially planning to invest between USD 2 billion and USD 3 billion. The company is prepared to increase this investment commitment further if additional viable and high-impact projects are identified.
EQUILINE FINANCE has significant long-term plans for Bangladesh. With keen interest to work closely with the Government of Bangladesh, and their approach towards it is highly flexible. They are particularly interested in participating in projects through Government Guarantee, Public-Private Partnership (PPP), and Off-take Agreement frameworks. At the same time, EQUILINE FINANCE is also interested in financing private sector projects.
EQUILINE FINANCE has presented a broad investment proposal to the Government of Bangladesh covering the sectors including Renewable energy projects of various types; Development of Energy Hubs for strategic energy storage and security; Investment in electric buses under the proposed Clean Dhaka Project; Waste-to-energy projects, including the production of electricity, organic fertilizer, and biogas through recycling; Environmentally sustainable projects such as wastewater treatment plants; Modernization of ports, municipalities, and other government institutions through the supply of medium- and large-scale equipment and logistics infrastructure; Expansion of healthcare services by establishing diagnostic facilities, ICU/CCU units, dialysis centers, and neonatal incubator facilities in district health complexes across the country, along with providing additional support to government hospitals; Modernization of the fisheries and agriculture sectors through the construction of multi-purpose cold storage facilities and grain storage infrastructure, establishment of fish and meat processing plants to boost exports, and development of dairy farms; Investment in hotels and recreational parks to promote tourism in selected regions of the country, as well as the modernization of Dhaka Zoo and Safari Park; Development of data centers and digital platforms and Investment in methanol production and other chemical industries.
