The annual event of New Horizon International School in the capital was held in a festive and joyous atmosphere for the 2025–2026 session. The celebration took place on Sunday, June 28, at the school premises with a range of engaging activities.
The program began with a Quran recitation by students, followed by the national anthem performed by the young learners. Anzam Ansar Baju, Director and CEO of New Horizon Crescent International School, delivered the welcome address. Students then presented performances including incy wincy Spider, dance, and recitation.
The highlight of the festival was the students’ outstanding performances and creative activities. Special guests included children's author, columnist, and human rights activist Nishath Sultana, and writer, children's author, and editor Ashique Mustafa.
Speaking to the students, author Nishath Sultana said, "Students must not limit themselves to textbooks. They should grow into thoughtful and humane individuals. Today’s wonderful event at New Horizon Crescent International School shows how committed the institution is to nurturing students’ talent and intellect."
Ashique Mustafa said, "The campus is beautiful and very child-friendly. This is the kind of institution where young children should be. Here, kids will write, sing, and read as they please—that’s the kind of school we want. Parents must have explored and chosen this institution. You are truly fortunate. Most schools in this city are not child-friendly." He also highly praised the school administration, teachers, and students for their vibrant and spontaneous participation.
The students staged a lively cultural program featuring drama, dance, and music. The most enjoyable segment was the staging of Sukumar Ray’s famous play Abak Jalpan, performed by Grade One and Grade Two students.
The joyous event was streamed live on Facebook for viewers outside the school. Parents attended to encourage the students. Teachers, under the leadership of Principal Maryam Noor Yunus, managed the entire program.
It is worth noting that New Horizon Crescent International School follows the Edexcel curriculum, with its academic session running from July to June. The memorable and colorful annual festival concluded with an awards ceremony and vote of thanks.
