638 homeless, landless families get houses in Debiganj

PANCHAGARH,- A total of 638 landless and homeless families in all 10 unions of Debiganj upazila in the district have got their new houses as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Premier inaugurated the distribution of tin-shed pucca houses free of cost under the second phase of the Asrayan-2 project through a video conferencing from her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital on Sunday across the country.

After inaugurating the countrywide programme, Upazila Chairman Abdul Malek Chistee and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Debiganj Prottoy Hasan jointly handed over the documents regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to 56 homeless and landless families at a function at upazila Parishad (UP) hall room.

After getting the houses, all beneficiaries were so happy and expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving them the new pucca houses built on two decimals of land. They also prayed to the Almighty Allah for the Prime Minister’s long life and sound health.

Upazila Project Implemented Officer (PIO) Abdul Momin, female vice-chairman Ritu Akter and 56 beneficiaries attended the programme and witnessed the houses handing ceremony by the Premier through a large screen.

Besides, all union parishads arranged the programme and handed over the documents regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to the enlisted homeless and landless families.
