RANGPUR,  – Some 287 people were inoculated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine today in Rangpur division where the vaccination campaign continues in all eight districts.

Health officials said the number of the first dose of the Covid-19 recipient citizens rose to 5,97,974, including 3,58,439 male and 2,39,535 female, in the division today.

The district-wise break-up of first dose recipient 5,97,974 citizens stands at 1,68,863 in Rangpur, 44,630 in Panchagarh, 76,844 in Nilphamari, 37,394 Lalmonirhat, 46,146 in Kurigram, 49,225 in Thakurgaon, 1,11,955 in Dinajpur and 62,917 in Gaibandha.

At the same time, 56 more citizens of Rangpur district alone received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine today while none was vaccinated with the second of the jab in seven other districts of the division due to vaccine scarcity today.

With this, the total number of the second dose recipient citizens rose to 3,88,072, including 2,47,193 male and 1,40,879 female, in the division today.

“The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,88,072 citizens stands at 89,731 in Rangpur, 31,753 in Panchagarh, 50,273 in Nilphamari, 27,920 Lalmonirhat, 33,769 in Kurigram, 37,409 in Thakurgaon, 78,830 in Dinajpur and 38,387 in Gaibandha in the division,” Dr Islam said.
