TileChalk by DBL Ceramics Wins Dual Merit Awards at The One Show 2026, Joining Global Elite Brands

DBL Ceramics’ TileChalk campaign has won Merit Awards in both the Green Pencil and Sustainable Development Goals Pencil categories at the prestigious The One Show 2026.

With this achievement, DBL Ceramics becomes the first Bangladeshi ceramics brand to be recognized at this level on the global creative stage, further strengthening its position as an industry leader in sustainability-driven innovation.

Before reaching this global milestone, this campaign had already earned international recognition, winning prestigious awards including Spikes Asia, ADFEST and The AdForum PHNX Tribute 2026.

TileChalk is a sustainability initiative and a strong example of the circular economy in action. It transforms ceramic sludge, a type of waste generated during tile productioninto classroom chalk. The project addresses two major challenges at the same time: reducing harmful industrial waste and helping solve the shortage of learning materials in underprivileged schools.

To increase its impact, the TileChalk formula has been made open-source, allowing other manufacturers to use and adopt the process freely.Commenting on the achievement, Mohammad Bayazed Bashar, Chief Business Officer of DBL Ceramics, said:

“We are truly happy and humbled by this recognition. We started this journey to solve an internal process challenge and we never expected it to reach such a global stage. Awards are encouraging but our real success is ensuring zero dumping at our factories and delivering learning tools to underprivileged children. We are proud to represent Bangladesh on this platformand we will continue working on sustainable solutions that create real value beyond business.”

The Merit Award at The One Show shows that creativity is not limited to advertising or communication. It can also solve real environmental and social challenges. TileChalk is a clear example of how industrial waste can be turned into something useful for education and the environment.DBL Ceramics remains committed to continuing its journey of sustainable innovation and meaningful impact.
