45,634 patients recover from coronavirus in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM,  – The total number of recovered patients from coronavirus rose to 45,634 in the district with the healing of 521 more people in the last 24 hours.

“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” said Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram.

The percentage of the recovery rate stands at 83.36 in the district, he said.

Meanwhile, a total of 158 more people were tested positive for Covid-19 after testing 1,400 samples in the last 24 hours at eight COVID-19 laboratories in the district till Friday evening, climbing the number of infections to 54,740.

According to the hospital sources, the infection rate is 15.74 percent during the period.

“The daily new infection figure shows a slight enhanced compared to the previous day’s figure of 129, but the recovery rate is enhancing continuously in the district in recent weeks,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.

Among the infected patients 92 are from Chattogram city and 66 from different upazilas of the district.

The health expert of Chattogram urged city dwellers again and again to strictly follow health rules and use masks due to continuous increasing corona infections here.

With two more deaths on Friday the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths in Chattogram stood at 640, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said.

Among the reported fatalities, 453 were the residents of the port city and the rest 187 were from different upazilas of the district.

Among the total 54,740 coronavirus infected people, 43,345 are the residents of the port city and the rest 11,395 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district.

A total of 6,073 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, he said.
