Renowned journalist and digital storyteller Abu Mohammad Salah Uddin populary known as Salahuddin Sumon has been honored with the ‘Best Travel Content Creator’ award for 2025. The prestigious accolade was presented by the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association (BTWA) during a vibrant ceremony held at the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra Auditorium in the capital. The BTWA, a prominent platform for travel writers and entrepreneurs, recognized Sumon for his immense impact on the industry, where he currently commands a following of over 7 million across YouTube and Facebook.
In an emotional acceptance speech, Salahuddin Sumon expressed deep gratitude, acknowledging the legends of the travel world present at the event. He stated that it was a prestigious honor to receive such an award from this platform, noting that he felt humbled to be in the company of expert travel enthusiasts. He specifically mentioned feeling honored to receive the recognition alongside respected personalities like K.M. Harun, Shakoor Majid, Ahsan Habib, and Zia Haque.
The significance of the award was underscored by the President of the Association, Ashrafuzzaman Ujjal, who spoke via a video message from the United States. He emphasized that the organization believes a person's work should be evaluated and celebrated during their lifetime rather than posthumously. Alongside Sumon, several other categories were honored, including Mahfuzur Rahman for Travel Literature, Muntasir Mamun for Adventure Writing, Mustafiz Mamun for Photography, Anisuzzaman Sohel for Creative Art Direction, and Travel Prose magazine for Best Travel Publication.The ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering of icons, including Unmad Editor Ahsan Habib, Consumer Rights Association President AHM Shafiquzzaman, media personality K.M. Harun, and Mohiuddin Helal, Director of the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.
The Association confirmed that these awards will continue to be held every two years to foster excellence in Bangladesh's travel sector.
