Home minister warns of action for negligence

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has directed police personnel to ensure public services are delivered with honesty, integrity, and professionalism, warning that any proven negligence or misconduct will face strict action.

The minister made the remarks during a visit to Ramna Model Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police in the capital today.

During the visit, he interacted with senior officers and on-duty police members, including the Officer-in-Charge and duty officers, and inquired about their responsibilities while listening to their concerns.

He also toured various sections of the police station's facilities, including offices and detention areas, observing the overall environment and service delivery process.

Highlighting the importance of accountability, the Home Minister stressed that law enforcement officials must serve citizens with sincerity and fairness at all times.

He cautioned that any allegation of negligence or corruption, if proven, would be dealt with firmly.

The visit reflects the government’s continued efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in police services.
