

In an unprecedented gesture of encouraging a college student Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today drove a go-kart (racing car) built by Rizwan Rashid Rion in his office premises.
Rizwan presented his self-built go-kart before the Prime Minister as he came at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the city’s Tejgaon area to pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister this afternoon.
Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony said at that time, the Prime Minister inspected the kart with great interest and at one stage the premier got into the seat and drove it away the from sprawling lawn to approach road of the PMO.
Being impressed by the Prime Minister's gesture, young Rizwan said he never imagined that the Prime Minister would actually drive a vehicle made by him.
“This is truly inspiring,” he said.
Rizwan also said he drove the go-kart all the way from Mohammadpur to the PMO in Tejgaon.
Rizwan's creation of go-kart recently went viral on social media, which also drew attention of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Following this, the Prime Minister asked his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman to inquire in detail about it.
During the meeting, Rizwan shared the story of making the go-kart.
He said his father, a diploma engineer, now working in the Mechanical Division of the Ministry of Education, inspired him to build the kart.
After completing his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams in 2025, Rizwan decided to make productive use of his free time.
Though his family bought him a motorcycle, but he was interested in a car. However, due to financial constraints to buy a car, he built his own go-kart, Rizwan told the PM.
On his arrival at PMO by driving his kart, the Prime Minister highly praised the youth and said that the country's youth should be more involved in such creative activities.
