NLASO settles over 2,32,000 cases since 2009

A total of 2,32,216 cases have been disposed of through the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) by providing state-funded legal assistance.

The information was revealed in a report published on the organization's website, concerned officials said here today.

According to the report, from 2009 to February 2026, detailed statistics on legal assistance services were mentioned. During this period, legal advice services were provided in 5,55,908 cases to underprivileged justice seekers.

The report further stated that under the government funding, 2,322 cases were disposed of through the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office. Additionally, 2,29,074 cases were settled through Legal Aid Offices in 64 districts across the country, while 820 cases were resolved through labor legal aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram.

Legal aid services are provided at the government's expense under the Legal Aid Act with the aim of ensuring access to justice for financially disadvantaged and helpless litigants.

The activities of the organization are conducted under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
