He has been attacked twice before for writing about free thought and fundamentalism. Most recently, journalist and writer Md.

Arif Hossen was seriously injured in an attack by miscreants. The incident took place on March 28, 2021 in Moulvibazar area of ​​Sylhet at around 9.30 pm.

Witnesses said that at that time they saw Md. Arif Hossen walking on that road. Suddenly three strangers in Punjabi pajamas stopped Arif Hossen. Before they knew it, they saw people throwing Arif Hossen to the ground and beating him.

He was screaming for help. Everyone in the neighborhood rushed forward and the three men ran away. Locals went to the spot to find out Arif’s identity and admitted him to the hospital.

At that time Arif was bleeding profusely from his nose and mouth and he was moaning in pain. He is filing a general diary in this regard. In recent times, Arif Hossen has become a target of government parties and Islamist fundamentalist militant groups for his courageous journalism.

Arif Hossen has been involved in journalism for a long time. He is well known as an uncompromising journalist. He has been attacked in various ways before.
