BDCricTime and Md Jabed Ali Honored by Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRAB) in Australia

In recognition of its long-standing dedication to sports journalism, BDCricTime, one of Bangladesh's leading sports media outlets, has been honored by the Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRAB) in Australia.
The honorary memento was presented to Md Jabed Ali, Editor-in-Chief of BDCricTime, who is currently in Australia to cover the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026. The ceremony was attended by TRAB President Arko Hasan and General Secretary Humayun Kabir Rose. During the presentation, TRAB leaders lauded BDCricTime’s significant contributions to the sporting arena. Humayun Kabir Rose highlighted the outlet's rapid growth alongside the popularity of cricket and football in Bangladesh.
"BDCricTime has become a trusted platform for millions of followers. It has earned a special place in the hearts of fans through objective reporting and comprehensive cricket updates," said Rose. "Adding to its list of achievements, BDCricTime is also the first sports-based online portal in Bangladesh to be officially registered by the government."
Rose also mentioned the expansion of the brand through its sister concern, BDSportsTime, noting that founder Jabed Ali’s vision has grown beyond the 22 yards of a cricket pitch to support the rise of women's football and other sports.
Reflecting on the journey that began back in 2011, Md Jabed Ali expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He recalled the early days when Bangladesh had a limited digital presence in sports media. "Seeing the cricket communities in Australia and India, we often wondered why Bangladesh didn't have something similar. That thought drove us to start working with cricket on digital platforms," Jabed Ali shared. "From the 2015 we started generating revenues and by the grace of Almighty Allah we've come this far," Jabed Ali added.
He noted that his visit to Darwin last year for the Top End T20 made him realize the outlet's international acceptance. "Our expatriates cherish BDCricTime. When they see our mic cube, they recognize us and offer support. It feels like we’ve successfully built a bridge with the diaspora."
The event, held in Sydney, also featured an Iftar gathering with journalists covering the AFC Women's Asian Cup. A notable guest at the event was former Bangladesh national team opening batter, Imrul Kayes.
Jabed Ali concluded by urging fans to stay connected with both BDCricTime and BDSportsTime as they continue to diversify their coverage across all sporting disciplines.
