Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that the government is making strong efforts to bring back the main accused in the Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi murder case and his accomplice, who were recently arrested in West Bengal, India.

“We’re marking robust efforts to bring back the main accused and his accomplice arrested recently in India’s West Bengal,” he said.    
 
He made the remarks on Monday afternoon after attending a Law and Order Committee meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Cox's Bazar.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Home Minister said that his ministry has already taken steps to bring the accused back to Bangladesh.

He added that the government will also establish communication through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expedite the process of returning the suspects.

At the same time, Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized that mob violence would not be tolerated in the country and that the government would take necessary measures to prevent the spread of mob culture.

During the meeting, the Home Minister directed authorities to demolish illegal structures on the world’s longest sea beach in Cox’s Bazar within the next week.

He said that in order to promote Cox’s Bazar beach nationally and internationally, garbage and unauthorized structures on the beach must be removed immediately.

The meeting was chaired by Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Abdul Mannan and attended by officials from various government departments and political leaders, including Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent NM Sajedur Rahman.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, the Home Minister arrived in his hometown Cox’s Bazar on a two-day visit. 

This was his first visit to the district after taking oath as a minister.
