The Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) has urged all mosques concerned across the country to perform Khatme Taraweeh in the same manner during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The IFB came up with the call through issuing an official release by its public relations department this afternoon.
"The custom of reciting certain ayats (verses) of the Holy Quran in Khatme Taraweeh prayers is practiced in almost countrywide all mosques in the Ramadan . . . However, the dissimilarities are being observed in some mosques," the IFB said.
The IFB has called for the same method of offering Khatme Taraweeh prayers in all mosques during the holy month of Ramadan and reciting nine Paras in the first 6 days and one Para in the next 21 days, it mentioned.
By doing this, it is not possible to maintain the continuity of completing the Holy Quran recitation among working and devout Muslims traveling to different places. At this situation, a dissatisfaction and mental stress is felt among the pious Muslims, the release observed.
It said if nine Paras in the first six days of the Ramadan with one and a half Paras are recited per day while one Para each of the remaining 21 days, it would be possible to complete the Holy Quran on the 27th night of Ramadan, night of Lailatul Qadr.
