With financial support from Human Concern International (HCI) and implementation by Shushilan, winter clothing was distributed among students living in the remote char areas along the Jamuna River under the Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) to help them cope with the severe winter season.
Under this CSP-supported initiative, 69 students of Char Susua Asatunnesa Dakhil Madrasa received winter assistance. Each student was provided with a high-quality blanket and jacket, while their mothers received warm shawls. The distribution programme was held on Saturday (20 December) at 11:00 am at the Susua Welfare Association ground in Gopalpur.
The event was supervised by Mustafa Bakuluzzaman, Deputy Director of Shushilan, and Kazi Faisal Kabir, Monitoring Officer. Among those present were Delwar Hossain Dilshad, Acting Chairman of Arjuna Union; Md. Delwar Hossain, Accounts Officer of Shushilan; Md. Mominur Rahman, President of Susua Welfare Association; along with other local dignitaries and community representatives.
Organizers said that people living in the Jamuna char areas face persistent challenges due to natural disasters and harsh living conditions. Winter poses particular difficulties for students and their families. The beneficiaries expressed happiness and relief after receiving the winter clothing.
Students were encouraged to continue their education regularly despite hardships, and the organizers expressed hope that such humanitarian initiatives under the CSP would continue in the future to support vulnerable char communities.
